L’alluvione di Firenze creò un problema di fotografia?
Abstract
This article suggests a methodology for the analysis of the photographic image of the 1966 Florentine flood, with particular attention to the circulation of photographs in Italian publications of the time. In particular, the study focuses on two magazines – “Progresso fotografico” and “Popular Photography italiana” – and looks at images in a wider context that includes their linguistic, iconological and conceptual fuctions, acknowledging the crucial role played by magazines in their process of re-semantization.
