Il corpo dell’immagine: il documento fotografico nello spettacolo contemporaneo italiano
Abstract
The article focuses on the role of photography in contemporary performing arts when it occurs as a document, considering the recent dialogue between contemporary archival theory, media and performance studies. This investigation emphasizes how the encounter with performance provides original theoretical tools for the study of photographic documents today: on their performative nature, the materiality of their bodies, and their non-dichotomous relationship with reality and fiction.
