Oltre il ‘visivo’: colore e sperimentazione in Paolo Monti

Silvia Paoli (Musei del Castello Sforzesco, Milano)

Abstract

Paolo Monti (1908-1982) developed an original approach to color photography and its features, studying all the possibilities of creating a personal way of seeing in ‘color’. Passionate and deeply involved in the artistic and photographic culture of his time, attentive to the international context, during his career Monti never gave up experimenting all the aspects of color photography, with negatives, positives, slides, photograms and chemigrams, rejecting all conventional and naturalistic use of color.
