La Fondation arabe pour l’image : une approche historiographique singulière ? Le cas Van Leo
Abstract
This text aims to contribute to the debate concerning the Arab Image Foundation (FAI), one of the most important photographic archive in the Middle East region, which works to preserve and promote the region’s photographic heritage. Through an analysis of the cultural productions carried out by the FAI around the work of the Armenian-Egyptian photographer Van Leo (1921-2002), the aim is to show that these creative gestures contribute to the FAI’s historiographical ambition and thus to the production of knowledge around photography in a historical and regional perspective.
